Traveller
Wood is a natural material and over time will rot if not preserved or treated correctly.
At Morris Minor Workshop we can repair and/or renew all woodwork on Morris Minor Travellers to make it as good as new.
Services include:
-
Replacement of complete wood using good quality treated ash
-
Replacement of rear doors, rear door pillars and middle waste rails depending on the condition of the rest of the woodwork
-
Rub down and retreat of all exterior woodwork
-
Fitting of new window channels and re sealing of inner capping, should you have soggy rear carpets.
Treatments used on woodwork
If new wood is fitted, a few weeks prior to the wood being fitted the wood is soaked with cuprinol in order to preserve the wood as best as possible making sure that the cuprinol soaks into the joints where possible.
After a prolonged drying period the wood is rubbed down and treated with one coat of Sikkens Cetol HLS base coat and two coats of Cetol 7 top coat light oak. This has proven to be a good treatment which seems to hold up well against UV rays.
